Philly Urban Theater Festival

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Wow! What a ride! Our road through the festival was very bumpy. We had several last minute cast and crew changes. However, although the path was full of obstacles, God still showed up! Rise and Walk would like to thank actors Tobi Gadison, Letele Harris and Pamela Jones for stepping in at the last minute and dedicating yourself to the wonderful and challenging work, Verbalized Ink. Also a big thank you to Linwood Mohammed and Cab Calloway student Khadir Hamilton for learning tech on the fly and doing such a great job!
Rise and Walk was blessed to have theater legend Johnnie Hobbs Jr. in the audience. He gave us very good feedback and was really impressed with the work and the performances.
We can't talk about the festival without mentioning Kash Goins. Kash was the brain behind it and through his brainchild many new african- american playwrights and directors got their chance to shine. Also a huge shout out to his wife Tiffany Goins who was so pleasant, helpful and supportive. She was a definite key to the success of the festival. For all of the actors, playwrights, directors, crew and budding theater companines who were associated with this historic opportunity we wish many blessings upon you. This is only the beginning of an adventurous journey ahead.
Last but not least Rise and Walk would like to issue to a super huge thank you to all of our supporters, aka "Friends of Rise and Walk". We could not have done it without you. What purpose does a work serve if no one ever comes to see it. We had some new patrons and we had some good and faithfuls. How blessed we are to already have repeat patrons and this show has only been up a few times! That is truly a testimony to the gift that God has given to playwright Andre N. Jones. Did I mention that Andre was the technical director for the festival as well as producing a show in it?! Wow the stories he could tell! LOL!
To all of our supporters new and old we would like to invite you to stay on the ride with us. Verbalized Ink will be playing again soon- information available at a later date. Also some new works are being worked on. Hope to have information on that soon as well.
